The Boot Camp (Board & Train) Program is our all-inclusive training program in which private sessions, group courses and home visits are bundled together. We start our program teaching the fundamentals of dog training then lead into dog-specific training, in-home skills and outdoor activities. The transition into the home is handled delicately, and focuses on clients applying the training concepts in a manner that is not over complicated for the family or the dog.
Our group classes are structured around what dogs can achieve during our two-week Boot Camp Program. The curriculum is split up into three courses: Introduction to Dog Training, Intermediate Training Concepts and Advanced Training Concepts.
After covering all the basics of dog obedience and mild reactivity in our introduction course, you may wish to move on to Intermediate Training Concepts where we will cover Rally Obedience, Intermediate Agility, Canine Good Citizen testing; finishing with introduction to off-leash work. Our Advanced Training Concepts Course covers in depth Off-Leash Recall, “Heel” and more challenging Agility obstacles.
Private Sessions are the best way to address one specific issue while influencing the other areas of your pet’s behavior. Working one-on-one with a trainer gives you the detail and explanation needed to understand the training concepts thoroughly. Training a dog always starts with Learning Theory and then its application around the behaviors you are looking to teach. Individual training sessions are also recommended for dogs that may be too reactive beyond what can be managed in a group course.
